Get smart and learn how you might be limiting yourself with unconscious straining in your daily activities like sitting at your computer, driving, walking and even sports and yoga practice.
Low back pain affects 80% of adult population at some point in their lives. Much of the discomfort can be alleviated without drugs or specialized treatments by improving your understanding of the functional relationship between the spine and pelvis and muscular compensations that are adopted because of this lack of awareness. Using safe and gentle movements you can learn how your legs, hips and low back can do their jobs – without pain or discomfort
This Embodied Learning Workshop will introduce you to The Feldenkrais Method® – a neuromuscular re-education system that addresses the innate capacity of your brain to learn new, easeful and efficient ways of moving, thinking and being.
After brief discussion, you will be guided through an in-depth Awareness Through Movement® lesson to improve mobility and ease and alleviate tension in the hips and low back by finding new, healthier ways to organize your system for optimal functioning.
Interestingly, Awareness Through Movement is not about learning how to do a special movement technique. It is a process of learning how to focus your attention and use movement to feel yourself.
The movement sequences are simple, pleasant and unusual which encourages you to break free from your habitual or compulsive ways of moving and learn new possibilities. You are encouraged to go slowly
to take the time to become aware of yourself. Awareness is the first step in changing behavior.
Find out why so many people are discovering the art of working smarter, not harder, with the Feldenkraks method.
